Obtaining and maintaining Approved Contractor Scheme status is no small achievement - the standards that have to be reached are far in excess of the minimum standards that apply to practically any other business services sector. The only companies able to operate in this way are the 213 companies who have achieved Approved Contractor status - this being an onerous quality management assessment made by the SIA. This is some achievement when you consider that there are in excess of 1,000 security companies of all types in the United Kingdom.
